“Lucky are those who forget, [and] Lucky are those who remember their true Self. But no matter how lucky the forgetful ones are, those who remember their true Self and are aware, are luckier still. …Gradually, the changing of times will come.

Clairvoyant and wise, King Jayabaya of ancient Java saw centuries ahead of time the current state of our world: rife with suffering, material greed, and chaos. It is a wicked and unjust world in which “brothers eat their brothers.” All these, however, are the signs of changing times, when our desperate world will change from bad to good, from darkness to light, through the saving grace of the Savior: Ratu Adil. In today’s episode, we will continue to examine King Jayabaya’s accurate visions of our topsy-turvy world, plus the most important task he believed we should do: find our true Self.

“Many die of starvation beside food. Many are rich but their lives are miserable.

This verse indicates that although plenty of crops are produced to feed the world, right beside the food are starving people. Today, 82% of starving children live in countries where grains harvested are fed to livestock animals, that are then killed and eaten by wealthier, developed countries. (Thus, in a sense, people really are eating the flesh of their brethren, because they are feeding themselves at the expense of dying fellow humans.) “(Are you sure you can eradicate the hunger in the world?) Yes. If we don’t feed the animals, don’t raise more animals. Because at least 55 billion animals are killed each year just for eating, and that 55 billion of animals eat up all the grains, the vegetables, valuable food and water, leaving 1 billion people hungry right now. (Yes, I understand completely.) It’s not about we can or cannot. It’s about we do or we don’t want to, we will or we will not, you see? We cannot just keep all this industry just to make somebody rich or a handful of people rich, while billions of people are hungry. (Dying now.) And children, every five seconds one child dies. And we have enough to feed the world, moreover. (I know, I know.) So we have to change. I don’t understand; the 21st century already and still don’t have such a concept as feeding the world like your family members.”

Meanwhile, the prophecy says that many people are wealthy but live miserably. Indeed, although rich and well-to-do lifestyles have reached unprecedented levels in our generation, they do not correlate with greater happiness. “When 46-year-old Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead in his New York City apartment over the weekend, the news shocked the world.” “And this morning, according to authorities in California, they got a 911 call reporting that Williams was not breathing at his home in Tiburon. They’re calling it a case of suspected suicide.” “Amazon’s Jeff Bezos is the richest man in the world. And today, he and his wife announced they’re divorcing after 25 years of marriage.” Etc…

If we have not found our own inner Self, no matter how wealthy we are, even if we are the king, the president, or the most powerful person, we would not have true happiness every day. Having found our Buddha Nature, God Kingdom within, everything becomes easy. We are happy living in the palace or in a tent. We feel fine either rich or poor. We are comfortable wearing beautiful clothes or otherwise. Nothing can shake our inner heart.” “(I am an IT [Information Technologist] consultant.) Yeah. (And at times I would make more money than I ever thought would be possible. But October 19th, I got laid off of my job. Because of the economy, I haven’t worked since then. And Master, I want to tell you, I have never been happier in my life.) Ah, yes. Sometimes it’s like that. (You take such good care of me that I tell people that sometimes, even when it seems like I may not be able to make mortgage because I am single, money comes. Master always takes care. When I was in a mall one day, I said, ‘Why do I need another pair of pants?) Yes. (That’s not important.’ See, for me, it’s not the money thing. It’s where you put your faith and where your priorities are. I know without a doubt, my soul is the number one priority. I said I may have to sell the house, then so what does it matter?) Live in a mobile home. (It does not matter. Your soul!) Live in a motor home. (I just want to tell You, Master, that what You’ve given me is priceless, and I want to thank You... so much.) No, thank yourself, honey! It’s all yours. My God! It’s funny that you thank me. You are God. My God!” “It’s not that I came from a troubled life. My parents, two established scientists in China, love me very much. So does my only sister. I myself attended some of the most prestigious schools, and I always have a wide circle of friends. Seems like I have a happy life, right? But something was still missing. Deep down I felt I didn’t belong to this world. Depression took over, I resorted to smoking, and even thought of suicide. It would take Supreme Master Ching Hai to put me on the path towards Home. When I heard Her lecture that day, everything became crystal clear. I got initiation the same night, during which I experienced the (inner) Divine Light and the (inner) Heavenly Sound as described in all the scripts since ancient times. The occasion was so overwhelming, overflowing with bliss and beauty.” “…I had those difficulties in my life, lost all my money, my house, and while living in a rented place I was very agitated and had lots of resentment. But since initiation, I’m happy even with living in a rented place, happy even if I don’t have food, and I’m confident with everything and feel comfortable.” “Hallo, Supreme Master, one of my college classmates is your disciple. I remembered that when I scolded him before he would get angry. But now when I scold him, he not only has no anger, but also nods and smiles at me and says, ‘Thank you.’ I am very surprised by this change. He looks like a child, happy, carefree, and at peace with the world. He is different from the colleagues in my company who compete for fame and fortune by playing tricks against each other and often creating discord.” “After five years of immersing myself in Your teachings and Your love, I have truly become an ordinary person who can live happily and peacefully, not attached to money, position, or any temporary happiness and sorrow that God and Buddha have arranged for me. I am so grateful to my Beloved Master. You are truly a great spiritual Teacher. I love You, Master!” Etc…

“Lucky are those who forget, [and] Lucky are those who remember their true Self. But no matter how lucky the forgetful ones are, those who remember their true Self and are aware, are luckier still. …Gradually, the changing of times will come.

These profound verses tell us that those who forget their true Self, might still feel lucky and live comfortable lives due to their good karma from previous lives, thus not knowing what might await them in the near future or next existence, a bad or good fate. However, the far luckier ones are those who are graced by a Master to remember their Divine noble origins, for they live in true awareness and can take this inner treasure of enlightenment with them beyond this transient life to eternity.

“(You see, some people, they are contented with the present state of life – good wife and happy family and all that. But then somehow, they still have a lingering dissatisfaction, you see, with life. They have the feeling that life is not complete, no doubt they have a good job, whatever.) Yes, that I know myself. That’s why I came to seek enlightenment because nothing satisfied me. Even a good house, or rich life, or good husband. My husband is very handsome! And he is a double doctoral degree. And we had a beautiful, good life in Germany. But even then, before that, I felt something missing; and after that, I felt something missing. During that, I felt something missing, to the point that my husband even noticed. He said, ‘It seems like everywhere you go, it’s like you live in a hotel.’ Don’t belong there, you know. Even in the most noisy party, he would detect the feeling inside me. So I said, ‘Yes, I don’t feel anything in this world could offer me anything, really, truly, happiness.’ Not that I did not love my husband or I did not enjoy the comfort of life. It’s just that I don’t feel that they are enough. It is because deep in our hearts, we are not the material being, we know it. In our subconsciousness, we remember that before we materialized this body by our desires and our experiences, we were someone else excellent, very intelligent, and all-knowing, all-pervading – can go anywhere we want, very free. Then, we feel we are imprisoned in this flesh, so we feel dissatisfied. Until we get enlightened, until we experience the real state of our freedom again, then we know, ‘Ah! That’s it! That’s why I was unhappy before!

“I love you as I love myself Like my love for all the continents, rivers and mountains. Tomorrow’s good-bye, who will shed tears? This bow is to repay your love and deep affection! Don’t know when we’ll ever meet again – So sorry that you’re still in your prime But the color of amour has faded. Don’t know when we’ll ever meet again – So sorry that you’re still in your prime But the color of amour has faded. I love you as I love myself Like my love for all the continents, rivers and mountains. Tomorrow’s good-bye, who will shed tears? This bow is to repay your love and deep affection! I’m leaving, wanting to reach the highest Heaven I love you as I love myself (original lyrics: And vow to level all injustice!)”
