After getting married, student Tân and Miss Toad loved each other deeply and had a happy marriage. “Each student with a wife must prepare a feast to present to the teacher. Let’s see if your toad-wife really knows how to cook!” “Yes, this feast is made entirely from vegetables and fruits, without harming any of our animal friends!” “I have never tasted any meal as delicious as this.” “Is there something troubling you, dear? Would you like to share it with me?” “It’s no big deal.” “Please tell me what’s troubling you. Maybe I can help.” “There’s an upcoming sewing contest for the teacher’s birthday. Since it’s challenging for you to handle needles and measurements, we won’t be able to participate. However, I’m unsure how to properly show our gratitude to the teacher.”

In this second competition, the prize once again went to Tân and his wife, much to the surprise and frustration of the other students and their wives. Therefore, the students came up with yet another contest called “Beautiful Wife.” “Where’s your toad-wife?” “How beautiful and elegant!” “Originally, I was a fairy but was condemned to be a toad-person. I could only escape this form when I found true love and respect from humans. It was the love, warmth and sharing spirit in Tân’s heart that helped me shed my toad skin and return to my own form.” “If you understood that all things are One and that Love is the source of all goodness, the world around us would be so wonderful.” As we conclude our journey through “Fairy Tale: The Toad Wife,” we’re reminded that the soul’s true value extends far beyond appearances.
