During the first two weeks of November 2023, a staggering 2,387 fires ravaged the Amazon region, which were attributed to extreme drought conditions. The fire sweeping through Brazil's rainforests represents a major threat to local wildlife. They've destroyed the habitat of protected species and led many animals to die of asphyxiation.
