And now we have a heartline from Hyun-woo in Korea:

I would like to thank my Respected Master and the team who are doing their best to operate Supreme Master TV. Recently, while reading the Heart Sutra, I found out that it describes the Quan Yin Method. Briefly, the first part is about Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva practicing the Prajna Paramita mantra for a long time, and He attained great wisdom and understood the emptiness of the five aggregates. The middle part explains that the Bodhisattva and the Buddha Himself relied on the Prajna Paramita mantra, which illuminates wisdom, to eliminate obstacles in Their mind and successfully enter complete nirvana. The last part describes that the Three Buddhas of the past, present, and future rely on the Prajna Paramita mantra, which illuminates wisdom, to achieve Anuttara Samyak Sambodhi, the highest level of practice.

Presumably, the Prajna Paramita mantra, the secret mantra, is the Five Holy Names of the Quan Yin Method and has been omitted. Many seem to mistakenly regard the refrain – “Gate gate paragate parasamgate bodhi svaha (Go, go, go beyond, go completely beyond to complete enlightenment.)” – as the Prajna Paramita mantra itself.

In the Surangama Sutra, Shakyamuni Buddha said that Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva’s hearing method is the supreme method. In the Heart Sutra, He transmitted the Prajna Paramita mantra, which illuminates wisdom, to Sariputra. They are the same as Supreme Master Ching Hai’s Quan Yin Method, which is contemplating the inner Heavenly Sounds and reciting the Five Holy Names inwardly. I am grateful to Supreme Master Ching Hai for bringing such a precious method to the world and passing it on to Her disciples. Hyun-woo from Korea

Insightful Hyun-woo, Thank you for sharing your thoughts about the Heart Sutra. Ancient spiritual texts are not always easy to comprehend. Hopefully, what you relayed will help make this important sutra clearer for others to understand. May you and mystical Korea take refuge in the Buddhas’ Grace, Supreme Master TV team

P.S. Master has some wise words for you: “Perceptive Hyun-woo, the Buddha’s sacred sutras are an immense source of wisdom for the world. Though spiritual texts are important, they cannot impart enlightenment. This is an unfortunate misunderstanding in our world, where many rely on books alone to nourish their soul. The soul needs direct contact with Divine energy. This is only available at the highest level through an enlightened Master. Mantras in and of themselves need to be charged with the Power of a Master to be effective. Otherwise, they are of little help. If spiritual seekers grasp what the Heart Sutra’s text is really pointing to, they will go find a living enlightened Master. May you and the contemplative Korean people experience the joy of true enlightenment. Love you.”
