And so it is with pleasure that I share with you now the following anecdotes about some outstanding animal-characters. Like humans, animal-people cherish their freedom. So, it was with Inky, an octopus-adventurer staying at the National Aquarium of New Zealand, until he demonstrated his daring wits in an escape that made international headlines. Octopus-people have agile minds with neurons distributed throughout their limbs. They love to play, use tools, retain complex memories and mental maps, and can distinguish between individuals – both humans and their species.

Did you know chicken-people can learn to peck a musical keyboard? Without further ado, I present Jokgu, the legendary feathered musician who dazzled the world with her audition for the television program “America’s Got Talent.” Our next story is about the extraordinary resourcefulness of certain tree-dwelling rodent-people. They can use vocalizations to communicate and plan where to hide food and other resources for future needs.

Speaking of careful planning, have you heard about the Japanese crow-people who adapted to city living? Recent studies suggest our feathered friends may also possess sensory consciousness similar to humans and other primates. Corvid-people are not only blessed with a high IQ; they’re also very loving and social! According to her, Tuck “thinks he is a very small human.” Finally, here’s the account of an exceptional feline-person who helped a damsel in distress.
