Taiwan (Formosa) recently passed a law requiring the government to encourage and promote low-carbon diets, specifically referring to plant-based food. It was stated that the Council of Agriculture and all levels of government are required to promote the diet, with mandates for civil society also to participate. Taiwan (Formosa) is now part of a small group of regions in the world that have included plant-based foods in their climate laws, and their net zero commitment by 2050 is legally binding. Taiwan (Formosa) is a recipient of a Shining World Leadership Award for Promoting Veg, and two Shining World Leadership Awards for Compassion, as well as a Shining World Leadership Award for Unconditional Love laureate.

Way to go, Taiwan (Formosa), on your excellent law to ensure the people of your nation make the sensible vegan choice. In the blessings of the Buddha, may you achieve an entire vegan population and net-zero emissions well before your 2050 goal.
