In the United States, abortion protests have been particularly active. Since its first demonstration led by Nellie Gray in 1974 in response to the US Supreme Court’s ruling a year earlier that made abortion legal, the March for Life has been held every year in the country, and has been instrumental in pushing the pro-life movement forward. Supporters and participants in the anti-abortion movement include people from all walks of life, such as celebrities and prominent political leaders.
