Make a habit of switching it off and unplugging it after every use, particularly if it is kept in the bathroom. Bathrooms have moisture and water nearby, increasing the risk of electric shock if a plugged-in appliance comes into contact with water. Keep hair dryers away from sinks, bathtubs and faucets, never use them or handle their plugs with wet hands, and if a connected hair dryer falls into water, don’t reach for it. Switch off the power first, then unplug it before retrieving it. When unplugging a hair dryer, pull the plug itself rather than the cord, then store it safely away, especially where children cannot reach it.
