An “ecovillage” can generally be described as a group of individuals who consciously choose to live communally and integrate the concepts of sustainability and ecology into their daily lives. An ecovillage is one pathway to a better future for our planet. Most of the Russian ecovillages are established either through public funding for the purchase of the land or by lease of the location. In 2015, the Russian government instituted the granting of free land to those willing to move to the Russian Far East. Here it seems a new era of coexistence and co-prosperity between humanity and nature is coming.
