Is it true that you cannot get along if you’re with anyone? Is that right? Whatever I say to you, you forget it later. Or, after a while, both of us forget, or we challenge each other. If… I think now that when God created us, Hes wanted everyone to do something silly; otherwise, Hes wouldn’t have made so many of us. And in every color, speaking all sorts of languages. What is worse, black doesn’t like white, white doesn’t like red, red doesn’t like yellow, etc. And then, for any reason, they can start a war. Luckily, we have the Quan Yin Method, so we can control our conflicting personalities somewhat.
But even if we have peace in this world, we are not really safe. If there is no war, earthquakes here today, volcanic eruptions there tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow… (Fire.) Fire at another place. And the day after the day after tomorrow, there will be floods or typhoons, etc. Not a single day have we read in the newspapers: “Oh! Peace All Around the World Today!” Have you? (No.) Have you ever seen a newspaper with a headline like that? Or seen it on television? Has there been a single day like that? If we could have a single day of world peace, that would be a marvelous thing. I think that would be the greatest miracle. But you can’t find one single day. I read the newspaper daily, and not a day goes by without a disaster, not one day without problems. There is not a single day when the world is truly free from suffering. Is there? (I haven’t seen one.) None? You’ve been reading, right? It seems that even if we want to save this world, we cannot do it; it is so difficult.
For the past few years, in addition to practicing spiritually, we’ve all been doing our best to help people who are suffering. We have tried hard. Sometimes, I gave away all my money and even money from this Center. The residents did without their personal monthly supplies. They said, “Let’s forget about the monthly supplies this month.” Do you know what personal monthly supplies are? You don’t. Let me explain it to you. This Center has a secret. It’s not that easy for the residents to practice. It’s only two meals a day. But they get a “monthly supply.” What are personal monthly supplies? They can order their favorite food and enjoy it anytime. For example, the kitchen here is stingy with the fried vegan ham. They slice it very thin. However, you can order a loaf of vegan ham, slice it thick, fry it and eat it yourself. That is called a monthly supply. Got it? (Yes.) They can order vegan chocolate, vegan ice cream, and things like vegan cakes or snacks, etc. They can order them. That is what we call monthly supplies, understand now? (Yes.)
Is it once or twice a month? (Once.) Once a month, same as before? (Yes.) Monthly supplies are ordered once a month. Otherwise, they would be called semimonthly supplies. Didn’t we used to say twice a month? (No.) It hasn’t changed? Where did I hear that from? OK, that is why they are called monthly supplies. (Understand.) So, sometimes, I use the money for their monthly supplies to do relief work. That means we are trying our best to help the world. But it is still not enough. Even if we take out all our savings, even if we don’t eat, sleep, or wear clothes, and sell everything, we still cannot save the whole world. That is why we are frustrated. We feel very disappointed. It is not because we don’t want to help.
Couples cannot get along; parents and children cannot get along. Kids cannot get along with each other in school, let alone adults. Kids are not yet corrupted; they’re still innocent. They are just a few years old and can’t walk steadily yet, but they’re already starting to fight. Right? (Yes.) So sometimes we make excuses like, “Oh, it’s because no one taught us, or because we eat animal-people meat, or because we associated with bad people.” But what about the kids? Who are they associating with? At 2 or 3 years old, when they can’t even walk properly, they start grabbing things, snatching toys and stuff. They’re unwilling to share and then cry and make noise. This kid beats that kid, that kid pushes this kid, and so on. That’s how wars are made – small wars, mini wars.
Now, what are we going to do? We’ll all ascend together and find out… When we ascend, we should wait for one another. If anyone goes up early, wait for us on the other side. All of us together will have much more power. Maybe to Hirm (God), this world is like a theater. But I’ll let you in on a secret. Those who come here and aren’t peaceful were expelled by Heaven. They were not good in Heaven, so they fell to this world. They were banished. It’s like in ancient times. The emperor would banish treacherous officers or revolutionists to a faraway place or somewhere like the prison we’re in now. All the bad guys were sent to the same place. Therefore, sometimes they fought or killed each other there because they were all bad! Likewise, our Earth seems to be full of them. Such a composition is not good. Alright, we try our best to rectify it. When we have corrected and sculpted ourselves well, then, if we are worthy, we can go Home again. That’s all there is.
As I just mentioned, over the past few years, we have been trying to help. Right, I forgot; now I’ll continue talking about this. We have been trying to help ease the miseries of this world, not only in a spiritual way but also with material support. However, we cannot help enough. We recently helped the Philippines by donating several million US dollars. Then came the floods in the US, in the Midwest. After that, an earthquake in California. And after we finished our mission there, we had to go to Âu Lạc (Vietnam) for the floods, etc. And after that, where did we go next? Cambodia, with the drought. If it’s not a flood, it’s a drought. How strange! If we could have sent water from the American Midwest to Cambodia, it would have been wonderful. Why did God do such a silly thing? One place lacked water, while another had too much, causing problems for both places. So odd!
And about helping, for example, before that, the disaster in Japan – the earthquake, it harmed so many people. We had just returned from helping Japan and were still catching our breath – oof! They killed their own people over there. They put poisonous gas in the subway and injured their own citizens, for example, like that. And right after that, in Oklahoma, Americans also killed their own people, etc. I could hardly take a breath. We were still crying; we hadn’t dried our tears yet. Then, there was another earthquake in Russia, and thousands of people were hurt. Truly, I tell you, we cannot catch up. Even if we run, we still cannot catch up.
And now, in Korea, people are starving to death. There was a disaster or something that led to poor harvests, and everyone is hungry. Many countries are having problems; we can’t name them all. Also, in Rwanda and Africa, they are killing each other. And in Russia, the big country bullies the small ones. In Bosnia, people attack their fellow citizens.
And so forth… It goes on and on. Sometimes, I feel like wiggling my nose or shaking my hair. I don’t know what to do. I really don’t know what to do. I feel that whatever our… I don’t think we can match God’s speed. God is too fast. Maybe it’s the karma; maybe it’s not God Almighty. It’s the result of human beings’ karma. Then, people reincarnate life after life within cause and effect.
That is why I have often told you that we can only find our own inner peace. Peace in this world is unreliable. It is very difficult to find peace among humans. You can ask for anything you want, but asking for world peace is… Therefore, we have to practice spiritually. After we practice spiritually, we feel more stable within. (Yes.) It’s OK to live or die. Of course, we should try our best to protect our life because it is precious. But we have to practice spiritually. If our karma comes and we have to leave, we leave. It’s no big deal. We’ve often had fellow initiates pass away, haven’t we? (Yes.) They were peaceful before they departed. No matter how they died, they were… They knew where they were going, so they were at peace. No fear at all, right? You all saw it, those deceased fellow practitioners. Do you know about this? (Yes.) Therefore, inner peace is the most important thing. Otherwise, we cannot find peace, not in this world. We don’t know when our karma will come, and we’ll have to pay it off.
OK, I’ll let you get some rest now. It’s too hot, so go find a place to hide. This is a good time to take a shower. The boys and the foreign disciples can take a shower now. The girls, the local ladies, can only shower at night. (Yes.) Do you understand? (Yes.) OK, wonderful, be cooperative. (Yes.) Otherwise, if we use the water all at the same time, and there are thousands of you, we’ll be out of water. Besides, it’s too crowded, and everyone would have to wait. Time is precious. You need to cooperate, OK? (Understand.) Don’t try to sneak around over there. That won’t work.
We have to be responsible for ourselves; we have to help ourselves. It’s not that Master is strict, or that if no one sees you, then you can do whatever you want. You have to practice this kind of honesty. You need to behave in the same way, whether people are watching you or not. Of course, I’ll have to keep teaching you until I die. Because you hear it today, and tomorrow, you’ll be somewhere else. To be great, you have to do things right. That is true greatness. Greatness is not changing others’ words as you please. Greatness doesn’t mean you don’t listen to anyone. It’s too easy not to listen to people. Listening requires a lot of attention, correct? (Yes.) Your greatness, your excellence, is your humility. Great people are those who are humble. The greater a person is, the humbler he is. Alright, thanks!
OK, I know, I’m leaving. Go find yourself a place to rest for a while, (Yes.) and then I will probably… I don’t think we need to meet again today to listen to me talk. I’ve talked already.
