“In my research, I read about many dogs who lived a long and happy life on a plant-based diet, like Bramble the vegan Border Collie, who lived to be one of the world’s oldest dogs passing on at over 25 years old.” “I would cook up a mixture of lentils, rice, veggies, and extras like coconut milk, nuts, seeds, and nutritional yeast and Pepsi would eagerly gobble it down. After a short time, his fur actually changed from matted and dry, to silky soft and it was obvious that he was thriving on his new diet.”

Ever wondered about “human grade” animal-people companion food, often found in expensive products? Well, the simple truth is that many animal-people companion foods are of low quality. This practice contributes to the food industry’s staggering US$143 billion revenue, achieved by using by-products and leftovers from our food chain. In reality, these products act as containers for leftovers from the meat industry, encompassing waste from slaughterhouses and 4-D meat (from animal-people Dead, Dying, Diseased, or Disabled). Studies from 1989 to 2023, reveal that common animal-people companion diseases like cancer, kidney, liver, and heart failure might come from dangerous ingredients in commercial meat-based diets. “There is no biologic requirement for dogs to have meat in order to be healthy. Furthermore, we are seeing that allergies are more so to meat proteins such as chicken and beef than the plant proteins.”

A recent study led by the esteemed Professor Andrew Knight (vegan), an advocate of veganism and a Shining World Compassion Award recipient, indicates a pressing need for a vegan diet for our animal-people companions. “I calculated that the world’s owned dogs and cats consume billions of the poultry, pigs, sheep and goats and other animals which are slaughtered each year for food. Just considering owning dogs and cats alone, the use of nutritionally sound vegan pet food could save around 7 billion land animals each year as well as billions of fish and aquatic animals.”
