In today’s news, United States to strengthen global health and humanitarian support through faith-based organizations. European scientists discover microbes that separate uranium from contaminated water, Chad and the Republic of the Congo open visa-free travel for Africans, Israeli startup develops novel portable blood test tool, social worker in India builds bridge schools for forgotten indigenous children, vegan chef showcases Afro-Caribbean vegan cuisine in new outlet in eastern Canada, and United Kingdom search-and-rescue dog-individual retires after nine years of service.

I have a handy tip for you. To avoid electrical overload from high-powered appliances in your home or office, it is advised to never share more than a single appliance on the same electrical outlet. An electrical overload could cause a circuit breaker to trip and in some cases, create a serious fire hazard. If an appliance requires a lot of power to operate, like large refrigerators, space heaters, microwaves, toasters, portable air conditioners, and treadmills, plug them directly into a wall receptacle and give them their own outlet whenever possible. Avoid using extension cords, power strips or multi-outlet converters with these appliances. Power strips and surge protectors are better suited for low-power electronics, such as phone chargers, televisions, computers, and similar devices.

Let’s get a healthy dose of laughter with the joke of the day, entitled “State-of-the-Art Directions.”

Owen bought a new luxury car with a state-of-the-art GPS and trusted it completely. One day, he was driving his father, Harold, through the countryside.

“In 180 meters, turn right.”

“Don’t turn there. That’s a cornfield.”

“Don’t worry, this GPS has real-time updates. It knows what it’s doing.”

Owen turned, bounced through the field, and came to a sudden stop at the edge of a river.

“You have arrived at your destination.”

“Why would it send us here?”

Look at that sign.

“It read: ‘Old Ferry Crossing — Service Discontinued in 1974.’”

“Well, your GPS found the route. Now we just have to wait for a future ferry company.”

?!

And now we have a heartline in Korean, with multiple-language subtitles, from Ji-A in Seoul, South Korea
